I tend to agree that it should be optional. (As it's been with some models.) I think perhaps I prefer the 445 but, I also like 462. In a perfect world, there would be a diode of each.

I agree. I actually haven't seen what 445and462 mixes looks like. As compared to just 445. I know what just 462 looks like alone.

Well, you know I want 462nm

I like to mix it up and have some 445 and some 462 in my shows. I'm hoping you will produce 462nm as an option like people are discussing.

445 makes a brighter white. In my opinion this is more noticeable in a beam show.

462 is a better blue for graphics and color mixing, and it is perfect for artwork that has sky or water in them.

I think it would be best to allow the end-user to select the wavelength. Barring that, how difficult would it be to install a lower power 445 diode and a lower power 462 diode and use a PBS to combine them? Would that increase the cost of the projector too much?

Am I the only one here, who is bothered by this "apparent power", measurement technique? Click image for larger version.

"Apparent output power" would seem to depend quite a bit on "scanner wobble" even if scan input is shorted! Click image for larger version.

I'm not sure I understand your concern. Power out the aperture window is what I'd prefer to see in all cases. We already know not all manufacturers do this.
