Default Combined RGB (white) modules. are they any good?

While searching the net for all thing laser, I came across lots of these

    RGB (White) Laser Module

Are these things any good? And if so does anyone recommend a particular maker/supplier.
    Cheers

    Colin.

i had been looking at these a while back, but when i heard the optics are glued and not tweakable
i decided it was better to start with homebuilt RGB

i guess you can be lucky and get a nice aligned module...
    but it can also backfire...

If you got the money (and it's quite alot of money!) the only really good pre made RGB modules are made by RGBLasersystems in Hungary...
But they're buttock clenchingly expensive... Kitatit on here built a projector with their 6w module a few years back.

Amazing bit of design and build by our Auzzie friend that really made the best of a quality bit of kit.

I've seen a few reviews recently from members who've bought 'pre built' "RGB modules" on FleaBay. These seem to mostly be indevidual R, G &B lasers mounted on ali plate with combining optics and drivers, so not technically modules as such. More the guts of a projector without Galvo block, psu and case. Still could be a good starting point for a first build though, if you get one of a reasonable quality...
Can't remember what the reviews said now, but i'm sure the search will turn up the thread...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

yes, they are also on ebay
many of us have used them as they are a source for long fl lenses for 445nm diodes, lenses and diode modules in general

i haven't noticed anyone having trouble with them

I recon Bridge will just ask you politely to speak to Mr Stanwax, who is afterall the UK (Europe ?) LW dealer.

Plus the man is a bloody good bloke, I'd have no hesitation in recommending him, if something goes wrong.. he'll see you right!

just ditch the driver and use something else and all should be fine. frankly you can build something much better for yourself for under $500.00
3 mounts, 1 mirror, 2 dichro, a base plate and an rgb set from DTR, get 3 heatsinks and a driver. Done.
