kudos to drlava
i was having some problems making drlava's lasercam do something that it is not designed to do...
not lasercam's fault. i was fully abusing it. i sent drlava an email about my issue. three hours later and he sends me a brand new version of lasercam with fix/feature implemented, tested and working like a champ.
outstanding support at 12am saturday night/sunday morning!

the source is high contrast black and white. i filmed my subjects against a brightly lit white background, then boosted the contrast and removed the background with a luminance key in final cut pro studio.

swamidog, why you don't use chromakey with greenscreen to separate alpha channel layer?
