I would suggest you do nothing with the Widemoves until you have proper test patterns. Trying to operate down in the sensor and bearing noise region to gain some illusion of speed is not going to work. 6215s are just going to do the same thing. Don't destroy the value of the scanners.

I will send you the LM test pattern as a text file and the links to software to reconstruct it as ILD, which you then can import into Laserboy.

Here is ReadILda WriteIlda and the LM test pattern.

You'll need a 32 bit DOS window or DOS emulator to use them.

    ILDAWRITE

Takes a .txt file containing human readable numbers and converts it to an ILDA format frame. The input file format is the number of points(N) ,then the 3 axis data for the frame as a signed integer N,x,y,z,x,y,z,x,y,z... where x,y, and Z are +10,000 to -10,000, for a 2D frame, make all Zs equal to zero.
It will prompt you for the file name to create and then create the file and exit back to the dos prompt. All points are set to full white and blanking is NOT supported. A sample input file, ildawrt.txt is provided. Note that there is a carriage return and line feed between each number. The programs do not support crossing directories, so the files must all be in the same directory

    ILDAREAD

This utility strips a one frame ilda file to a text based n,x,y,z format, where N is the number of points in the frame and x,y,z are signed integer point data, so the output is N,X,Y,Z,X,Y,Z..... The actual data will appear as a vertical list with one coordinate data per line. Color data and blanking data are NOT provided. Cross directory support is not provided, both the input and output files MUST be in the same directory. if ildaread.exe spots a error in a ILDA file header, it will tell you what the error is.

I have the C++ source code for these, if needed. Programming by Mike Svob of LFI-PLAYER fame.

Thanks, but I'm not doing it. I already said that I'm working on other things. Programming your own phase modulation synthesiser from scratch alone is not a thing most people would take lightly, and certainly they won't allow distractions to stop them working on it once they start. I haven't worked with lasers much for 5 years.

I don't intend to tweak the scanners. I just think that if no-one buys them untouched, working as well as they ever did since new, and mounted in a box well built to protect them in operation and storage, then their worth to me is limited, and tweaking may or may not take place at some point, purely as exploration of any slight improvement that may be had. It's not a priority, it's better to leave them as they are so a potential buyer knows that I have not been interfering with them. There's nothing else I can say. I'm going back to working on ultra-efficient pulse-width-modulatable phase modulation now...

If anyone wants to buy those scanners, PM me. It's maybe best I leave again, I shouldn't be here. I really don't have enough time left in my life to get involved doing things to satisfy other people's demands. Those scanners stay as I got them, until someone buys them.
