I can bring some Spaghetti dongles if there are in Spaghetti users that want one. They are $20 each. (Does not include Spaghetti).

    Gary,

Please save a dongle for me - I'll pay as soon as I see you at SELEM.

    Thanks,

I'll probably be putting some things up here soon. Reality is creeping in and my needs have begun to change. I need some higher powered gear (and some space) so, I may have to unclench the fist and move some bits and baubles I'll never do anything with soon, to fund some new purchases. I need WATTS. I may be doing a gig at the beach Saturday for 1500people and realized I may be underpowered, especially if more requests for lasers start to come in. What I've got is ok for my venue but, reality is I need some big green only projectors and an RGB in the 8-10 watt range. Oh the dilemma! (I know I'm fighting a frickin' bright $70,000 LED screen rig on Saturday.)

I think you should build these projector(s) yourself. It is a lot of fun and yes once you eliminate the chotchkies first one and then ...more BIG projectors makes sense. You can, if smart, for $6,500 build a 5W-R 5W-G and 10W-B projector with EMS scanning. PM me if you want some guidance.

Just got off the phone with Greg, and 515nm diodes were brought up. I mentioned that I've built a few times with the PL520, and I have a source for the 30mW PL515. He asked if I could possibly build him one for the nostalgia of the original 514.5nm argons. He thought yall would get a kick out of them too If anything, I'll bring one for him to show around to anyone curious.

If anyone wants some info on these, or is interested in one, let me know If you're just curious, then I'll try to get you some facetime with it

To back up my trustworthiness, check me out over at LPF, I go by Bloompyle (pm me for verification if you desire). Should back up my name

And if you're not smart... what's it cost to have the smart one that brought it up in the first place build it for you?? >:
The thought of 20 watts just gave me a little shiver!

I may have some stuff, got to look around.. been considering selling all of it but I know I'll lose my ass on most of it so it doesn't even seem worth selling

Once you have built half a dozen projectors, the general principles are well understood. You can then put together whatever you want; HUGE power onto slow scanners with big mirrors and low divergence or big power with fast scanners and higher divergence. The green is pretty straightforward just pic which CN company to order from as it seems that the direct diodes are still sometime away. The red and blue can be ordered from Kvant, but based on their specs I am not impressed with them and believe even a relatively inexperienced amateur can beat these. I would be happy to build you a projector, but one of the reasons that I suspect a projector from one of the established companies such as CT Lasers would cost a lot more is because they produce varianced products.

If you want to discuss this or get my thoughts, PM me as I don't want to hijack this thread.
