I must mention that Omar was super quick will my questions and the whole experience was super smooth. I don't want my tuning antics to turn anyone off on these projectors....by far the nicest Ive ever gotten my hands on at least and they really are great quality overall.

Im going to take my tuning questions to another thread to not junk this one up too bad.

Time for some pics. This is from my initial out of the box testing. I subsequently made one very, very fine alignment adjustment. But this will take you through the course of initial impressions.

Hmm smokes off brand cigs, drives fuel efficient cars, buys $1000000 worth of laser equipment.

SRS though thanks for the pics, love the whiter look of the 3w

EDIT it does look like thumbs in one pic.

Can you adjust the convergence? the misalignment shown in this pic would drive me crazy http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...2&d=1382014541

"Hmm smokes off brand cigs, drives fuel efficient cars, buys $1000000 worth of laser equipment."

And that's a problem??? Whatever do you mean, sir?

To be fair, the 1.2 watt Kvant 640 in that projector is out of alignment internally so, it's wider than it used to be and I need to work with Marc on what we're going to do to resolve it. Definitely two distinct lines hitting the dichro like an "equals" sign.
It's a bit of a tough projector to align because it uses those flexture mounts and gets out of alignment with the slightest bump. But... it does have one of the most beautiful whites. I need to get Marc to spend some quality time with her for a little spit and polish.

More surprising to me though is the difference between a $5,000+ Kvant against the Pluto in the other pic.

I can try to do that very soon. I have some more pictures that I want to get up for a few people that are thinking about getting something from Lightspace but, I'm going to have a difficult time over the next couple days finding down time to set it up in the ballroom to do that since we have a number of events going on. Maybe Sunday morning but, if not, it will be Monday sometime.

B1666... I don't know how to calculate divergence off the top of my head. I'll look it up how to do it and try to figure it out for you. Maybe these will help:

Not knocking this projector, but it is surprising to me that the red beam characteristics match the green beam, better than the blue. Are they using different type correction on the modules? Anyone ever popped one open.

    Fuck me sideways...

I just picked up 3 of these projectors, and I have to say that Brad's comments don't even begin to do these things justice. These are seriously nice units! The beam specs are better than any other laser projector I own - hands down. And the color balance seems dead-on, despite what Chroma would lead you to believe. (I, too, thought they needed more red, but it turns out that they have just the right amount.)

The scanners are incredible. They beat out both my DT-40's and my awesome Scan-Pro 50's.

I honestly didn't want to spend this much money (especially since I really didn't have it to start with!), but now that I've got these projectors, I have to say it was money well spent. These things ROCK!

Get yourself one, before Omar goes up on the price. (Because honestly, these projectors are every bit as solid as a Kvant Spectrum, and they're 1/4th the price!)

    Adam
