    Question Laserists in Sydney, Australia?

Am heading out to Sydney, Australia in a few months, initially for a month but with a view to stay for awhile if I can get a few things sorted.

I was wondering if there are any other laserists in the Sydney area, be good to get a bit of local info and maybe hook up with like minded people?

I would like to take a laser projector for a few art projects I am working on and any extra goings on - LEM's, etc while over there would be ace!

Lasershowsimon would be the one to contact. He has some really epic laser equipment and epic is putting it mildly.

Taking a laser projector into .au might be a problem? Or was it just laser pointers those guys go nuts over?

Give Troy (loopee) a bell. He is a top bloke and I visit him each time I go too Sydney.

Regarding bringing your projector. It will be fine. As long as it doesn't pose any danger to the aircraft it all be OK.

The lasers that will get confiscated are laser pointers above 1 mW. Any laser that is battery powered and greater than 1mW is now deemed a weapon. If you have to plug it into he wall, you can bring what you like.

    Good luck and have fun.

    Hey steviobee

Yeah, I'm in Sydney, live in the outskirts of the city and work in the city

As Kit said, it's only handheld pointers over 1mW that are banned, projectors are fine

When you're over drop me a PM and we can catch up

Are you coming over for holiday or work?

    Cheers

    Hi Troy,

Am heading out for a month (October) to see my girlfriend again, we split because she went away with work, but there may be a happy ending as I plan to move out for a while after an initial month and am going to look into working over there for a year or so.
I will be bringing my laser projector, I hope it travels well, good to hear all is well bringing them in!

I will keep in touch and be good to catch up for sure!

    And thanks Kit

    Cheers,

    Steve

Trying to remember his user name here, but Simon lives there. He is pretty crazy into lasers and is buying a whole Laserium system that is being rebuilt currently.
