    Default 3ds max sphere

Hi guys! Tell me how to make a sphere in 3ds max to get a disco ball ie as to the scope consisted of square triangular polygons and not as I get. When converting editable polygon I do not see these lines that would remove them.

I'm not sure you can. There are a limit number of polygon types and none is based on squares. They are all triangles. You might be able to make it by hand by making a ring of squares and then using the skew command to tilt them in and then scale and stack the rings. The other way would be to make it like the real thing and take a sphere and cover its vertex points with boxes like the mirrors. MAKE SURE YOU DO THAT WITH COPIES or you'll have way tooo many polys. You will still have a giant problem when it comes time to render as the frame rate will be like 1 fps. Another is a plug in called grebble. You might be able to get something from that. Personally I'd settle for what you have. It isn't worth the time to make and optimize for the result.

This is old but gets you pointed I nthe right direction. http://www.cgindia.org/2006/11/downl...n-for-3ds.html
