Not a Mac user primarily but I work across 3 different platforms at work: Windows, Mac and Linux(CentOS/Ubuntu). To be honest, I don't really see a benefit in Mac anymore other than a shiny, overpriced machine that has a rock solid OS and is easy to use. Back before Apple switched to an Intel architecture, Macs were faster when placed side by side with a Windows machine of "equal" performance. Any software that ran on both would typically run better and faster on a Mac. Once Apple switched, it is not so anymore because both platforms are running the same hardware and any performance differences now are negligible. The reason I have stayed away from Mac is because there is still more software written for Windows than Mac, even though that gap is closing. To be honest, I would rather run Linux primarily but the software base is non existent by comparison. I use Windows mainly because it is solid enough for me and I can find any software I want. If I want/need to run Snow Leopard, I just use a hacked VMware instance of it a voila! I say, if you are used to Windows and know how to use it without running any anti-virus software, stick with Windows. Most people who run Mac like it because you don't have to know a lot about computers to keep it running well like you do with Windows, I just think they are overpriced. All that said, sorry that your purchase wasn't exactly what you intended
