Not many pointer jockeys here... Try this site and see if anyone there has experience with them.

    Ah.... OK.

I'm not sure which galvos he's selling. They look like they might be Pro-Scan units. (Fred? Can you tell?)

Strange though that he's also selling the Alphalite system. I would have thought that he would be selling DT-40's then. (Rick Gebhardt used to sell DT-40's too, and pretty much swears by them...)

Anyway, the prices are pretty steep on that site. For comparison, you can buy the Alphalite direct from Rick for $349, yet the site you linked to has them for 249 pounds (nearly $490!)

Also, you can buy a set of DT-40 Pro's from Jian for just $550 including shipping, which is cheaper than the 299 pounds ($590) that the site you linked to wants to charge for their 30K galvos...

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: Maybe, if you want to put more time and money into it than BILDA.

It has potential but the design is too simplistic and lends itself to terrible output. I had to add the decoupling caps out of necessity, change the DAC's, cut the ground loop out, add external adjustment pots, and a slew of other crap but that still didn't help much... serious issues like the software-based timer are not fixable without a serious code overhaul.

I lost the PM I sent to buffo a year or so ago... I went on for a solid 2 pages on its "limitations".

Save your money for something better. I am expecting good things from the upcoming Pangolin "Hobbyist-o-matic" or whatever its trade-name will end up being.
