Default HB Laser announced 532nm Green up to 1000W

I just stumbed over last weeks HB-Laser newsletter where they announced a new laser source, based on an industrial laser which is available 500W today and up to 1000 in the future, with amazing beam ~3,0mm / ~0,23mrad. They will integrate a 20W-100W source of that type in there 'LightCube Blade' projector.

Any idea what this is about, what kind of laser that could be? No further details known. Cheers!

The laser might be disc laser where multiple IR diodes strike a thin, but large diameter disc of YAG. The disc is bonded (indium soldered) to a copper heat sink/rear cavity mirror. Thermal lensing is significantly reduced because of the short and in-axis thermal path. Trumph builds these in the fundamental wavelength to 16kW called "TruDisk". There is a 400W 532 SHG version designed for display out there somewhere, but I can't remember who makes it. They have an impressive aerial beam shot in their marketing promotion.

The second picture reminds me of Pat's YAG shining out of that missile bunker. There must be a link to the thread somewhere...

I think his looked better. No idea where to find a copy now but I remember it vividly. Where is he anyway? Was active here last time I was here, but not now.

I think Pat lurks in the shadows a bit more these days. Rumour has it that if you repeat his name three times...

It probably is a more critical image ie further away, shorter exposure, clearer air etc. 400W vs 40 -80 W is a big difference.

The laser "generator" is one thing, the other dilemma is to reflect this 3mm beam onto scanner mirrors without destroy them .

Do you have an idea of the material used? If they are highly efficient --- let say --- reflect 99% of the beam power, there is 10W to dissipate on a +-35mm˛ surface !!

Not to mention that the smallest dust on these mirrors will result in a dramatic problem.
