Default Guide to software laser tuning needed

    Request to the community.
Other then the pangolin QS setup video I have not really seen any other source on how to properly tune laser settings in software.
Their tutorial on color specifically seems lacking but there's an entire page of settings in QS involving vectors that are not even touched.
Sooooo would anyone kindly (or if its out there point me to it) provide a real working mans explanation of the various test patterns, how you really use them and how the software tunings relate to each? That would just be super and I'll owe ya a beer or three.

Adjusting the color palette is different from "tuning". Tuning refers to your scan amps, and it's what most of those test patterns are used for. True, some of them also have elements that can help you tweak your color palette, but really the Pangolin color wizard is already pretty good at doing that for you.

To understand what the different patterns tell you about how your scanners are running, I suggest you read my scanner tuning tutorial which is hosted by Dave and Adrian over at Lasershowparts.com. It covers both the standard ILDA test pattern and the LaserMedia test pattern.

If you watched the youtube video about the color board adjustment that I linked to in your other thread, then you already have a good understanding of what a decent color test pattern looks like. However, this page on the old LaserFX website has a pretty good explanation of the color adjustment portions of the standard ILDA test pattern. You may also enjoy this other page (also from LaserFX) that has more information about the standard ILDA test pattern.

As for the advanced color adjustments in Beyond (which I presume are similar to those in Quickshow), I'll defer to someone else who has more experience with it. I'm still using the standard LD2000 color wizard, which has always been enough for my projectors. (Absent any extra adjustment, Beyond will load the default LD2000 palette settings, and even when I work in Beyond, I've never had a need to change those settings.)
