I have set off an ionization smoke alarm at home with my phantom. It was about 6m away and I was experimenting with different settings e.g. It was heavier smoke. Only done it once but it can happen.

With the unobtrusive light haze levels you would be using at a wedding it should be fine.

    Good luck

Ahhh like I said then... heavy on the go button

But this proves you should never assume it won't happen!
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

I think the phantom is the one to go for I had a conversation with Ben Baxter from smoke machines.net he seems a great guy and knows what his talking about In World of smoke machines and hazers. Only thing I find a bit of a pain is the fact it has a Co2 bottle but I suppose if the haze has such a long hang time it will last a long time.

The co2 is used to push the liquid through the system so the more pressure you turn on the more haze/smoke so yes the co2 is always needed

    Hi laserpower,

Do you mean, can you run it without using CO2? If so, the answer is no. The unit won't work without the CO2.

I use an aluminium 2kg bottle which weighs about 5.6kg when full. It's approximate dimensions are 130mm diameter and 460mm to the top of the valve.

I have only done one show and the rest of the time I just been playing around for shot durations, so I don't have a lot of experience. I did have things set up wrong the first show I did and went through a bottle after only a few hours. That isn't normal though. It uses much much less now.

Give Ben a call at http://www.smokemachines.net

He is a very nice chap. He gives very honest advice about the machines they sell.

    Hi Laserpower.

I used mine on a festival and got through a co2 cylinder over 30 hours of heavy use.
I would say that indoors, a cylinder would easily last 48 hours as the use would be much lighter.
Just remember to turn the cylinder off when not in use as it will seep a bit...

    Systematic.

I'd go with the phantom if you can afford to. Thr tour hazer is fine, but you'll be disapointed with it once you use a phantom!

    Systematic.

If you want to compare the two macbines, PM me and we might be able to work something out as I'm just up the M1 a bit...
