    Default Colour Vision Test

I've wondered for a while now how other people perceive colour w.r.t. lasers. I know your own perception varies from phot/meso/scot-opic visions; also the "blue-light effect", but I mean in a more general sense of colour / colour blindness.
When I ran my CVL up a while back, I swore blindly the 578nm line looked very orange; yet later on it was distinctly gold.

I saw this colour blindness-esque test by chance the other day which I thought was a fun yard-stick; give it a go!

Interesting... Just done this whilst downing a cup of well deserved coffee . Time was limited though so I could perhaps have spent a little longer considering the placement each square. However, an overall score of 11 was acheived, which I don't consider to be bad at all taking into account the hurried circumstances.

Key to success in this test is the colour rendition of your monitor. I've just done it on a relatively poor monitor at work. Had I done it on my 27" iMac at home I would have expected better results due to the improved colour rendering.

Here's a basic online version of the widely used 'Ishihara' colour vision test. The online version only has a few plates, the 'proper' test has up to 24 plates... http://colorvisiontesting.com/ishihara.htm

Now that one, I did better - although there were three plates (2, 4, 8) of which I couldn't make out *any* numbers!

I got a 17. I knew that I was off a little on the left side of the third line down and, the results agreed. Wow... I did think I did better than that though. I'll blame my monitor like everybody else. It couldn't "possibly" be the 48 year old eyes.

Probably be interesting to try this again late this evening and then again early tomorrow morning.

    I got 16...

But this is down to the 473nm line in my vision being saturated with 445nm thereby causing problems with my yellow vision :

Looks like there are some hackers in our age/gender category...
Proud to say I got a 0, which was quite surprising as I did this earlier and made a few mistakes.
