Hit-Miss engines were primarily used on farms, and they were used for everything. They just had a power axle which could be hooked up to saws, mills, various farm equipment, generators... you name it.
I wonder if that's what Mr. Douglas had on his tractor. That thing had a big old flywheel on the side .. and it kinda sounded like that too ..
The flywheels on this one weight is about 140lbs....its a beast to move..but not as bad as its big brother will be......lol
