Default Help with a house party logo

    Hello Everyone,

I have a house party every year for halloween, and I have a logo for this party. I bought an RGB laser with ILDA cable input and SD card slot for ILDA files. I don't want to keep a computer attached to the laser during the party, I just want to put ILDA files on the SD card, pop it in, and let it go.

I have purchased and returned Pangolin's QuickShow due to the fact that it cannot export files. I have also been in contact with the creators of Moncha.NET, and this software cannot do it either. Their Fiesta.NET can, but is simply too expensive for house party use.

So, I am wondering if there is a cheaper software platform that can trace this image to get the logo into ILDA format, or if someone here would be kind enough to do the "magic."

    Thank you so much...

Oh, and I forgot to mention - my laser points to the ceiling, and is in no way in danger of hitting people. I am fully aware of the US laws and regulations regarding the safety and concerns with lasers and projecting their shows amidst a crowd of people.

    Thanks again...

Do you by any chance have a vector art image of that logo (svg, eps, dxf, ...)? If so a conversion would take seconds in Ild Sos.
There is a program called BMP2ILD, you might want to try your luck with that. And I heard OpenLase can do such things as well, but I don't know much about that (yet).
What are your projector specs? 12, 20, 25 or 30 kpps scanners? I assume 12 k since it's an SD card controlled one... But your image is fairly complex and would be hard to draw on a 30 k system, without too much flicker.
If you are in the US, just making sure the laser doesn't hit people probably isn't enough to ensure legality, but I don't know anything about US regulations and it's probably none of my affair.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I don't want the entire logo, just the outline. I can create a vector of it, and post.

Also, my laser is a 1W, 30K, RGB laser.

I will check out the BMP2ILD software and also look into OpenLase.

As soon as I get the vector completed, I will post it too.

    Thanks again...

    OK, 30k should be enough.

Galvonaut: I can't open that file?

Here we go. That was an EPS2 rather than EPS (my bad).

Looks like it's still a raster image inside an eps file... How did you convert it?

    Haha! Doh!

    Give me 10 mins

[edit] been about 6 years since I vectorised an image and got about 50% of the way through then accidently double clicked, closing my path. Going to eat, then get back on it. It's good practice [/edit]
