The Etherdream would probably be your best bet, although not sure if they are back in stock or not. Etherdream has an SD slot and interfaces with LSX nicely.

I have looked at LSX site, and they have a dac - RIYA Basic Multibus Controller. It has both ethernet and SD, seems like a great deal to add it to a purchase of LSX.

For a house party, this should include everything I need. I just want to get a hold of a demo of LSX first to see it's user interface.

    Ideas, suggestions, pointers, all welcomed...

    Thanks again...

I just checked, the Etherdream is available for $199.00. I am just wondering if it has a microphone for switching scenes with sound. I do not plan to create a several hour show for my party, rather just create some cute scenes, and add to the SD card. I would like for them to just switch at random to the beat of the music.

Would something like this be worth considering: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SD-CARD-Lase...-/290499688758

Thanks for all of your assistance...this truly is a vastly larger project than I had anticipated. LOL

no. etherdream doesn't have a microphone, but it does support OSC commands across the network. so you can use any system that speaks OSC to trigger cues from the SD card.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

In theory it accepts DMX signals as well, but I believe the firmware for that isn't implemented yet...

there are etherdream OSC templates so you can trigger cues from your iphone/ipad. the also include control for scan rate/geometry/position/color balance/etc.

    very cool!
