    Default Laserworld CS-1000RGB urgent question!

    Hi!

A friend of mine is trying to do a laser installation and the venue provided a Laser world cs-1000rgb. The hardware (Arduino/maxuino/MAXmsp-based) outputs 0-5 Volts on the RGB outputs, ILDA pins 5,6,7 and ground to 18, 19,20 but he gets no light output.
Do anyone know if they have implemented interlock (pins 4 & 17) or shutter (pin 13) or if there are any other tricks to getting light out of this unit? It is in another country so I cant't check the hardware myself!
I canīt find any specific info how tyo activate the ILDA port in the manual either, just autoplay and DMX modes.

    Manual:

    Thanks, Daniel

Laserworld is known to use the 4&17 pins for auto/ilda selection on certain es/cs/el models.

But I can't say for sure which models.

It senses if there is an ILDA cable plugged in. Does it work in the DMX and autoplay modes?

First job would be to tie 4 and 17 in the DAC [if not already] and see if that changes anything. I seem to remember reading something about LW safety implementations that required this. Most DACs already are.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I had a different Laserworld laser (long gone).

Usually the interlock is separate on Laserworld via a totally separate port and the laser comes supplied with a bridged plug that you can plug into defeat it in the event that you don't have an emergency stop button to connect to the port. Its a small grey flat plug with 2 rows of pins.

So far as I'm aware therefore, there's no interlock signal carried in the ILDA signal itself.

Might be worth checking therefore that your friend has either fitted the defeat plug or attached an emergency stop cable using the interlock port. You cannot run the laser without either attached.

I can't remember the pins off the top but it is separate to the ILDA which means its unlikely the ILDA is also carrying a signal.
