Default Specs for cheap and cheerful GoldenStarLaser galvos

I have three of these galvo sets from Winni: http://www.goldenstarlaser.com/al15k-p-300.html but they don't come with technical manuals. Winni says she hasn't been able to get specs from the manufacturer.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks, laserist, but my ones have a single double-decker driver board. They look a lot like these ones: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/66...nner_with.html so I've asked the Alibaba seller for a manual.

They might be Sunkoo-Reid CX-25k. Here's a shot of the top of the driver board.

Will do. I'll mail a couple of other providers too.

None of the resellers has come back to me with a manual yet. I guess I'm on my own. I've powered it up and I can get the standard on board DMX patterns to show up by turning on dips 9 and 10. I presume the DMX input is the 5 pin connector, so that just leaves the 3 pin connector at the top left for X, G, Y.

    Does that sound plausible?

Also I'll need to figure out what to set the dip switches to in order to get it to accept XY input. Any suggestions welcome

I took off the DMX board and this is what was underneath. I'm hoping the top left and right 3 pin connectors are simply X-, G, X+ and Y-, G, Y+ signals.

Right in the middle of the board there are three solder points marked XIN, GND, YIN. Does that look like the likely attachment point? What about negative voltages, or does the ground take care of that?

I'd love someone with some experience to comment before I jab it with a signal voltage.

My mate Alex, an electronic engineer, had a careful look through the underlying board. The small 2 pin connectors on the bottom left and right were what I wanted. Here's his reply:

I hooked them up to a sound card DAC and everything works as expected. I managed to do around 1000 small circles a second at (very roughly estimated) 5 degrees. At 2000 Hz the galvos start to whine a bit. I didn't try the ILDA pattern with them, since I'm essentially using them for spiros and the software is custom.
