Thanks for the hastle free negotiation.

You received my order Bridge because you have earnt my trust and respect by your activity on this forum and because of the experiences of other purchasers here on PL. I trust and respect everyone here (even the chop).

Thanks also for signing me up as an official Laser-wave endorsee with a great sponsorship package. I will put all the free lasers to good use and write fair and favorable reviews. Eric did tell you about the deal right?

BTW is it Laser-wave or Laserwave? You need to keep it consistent, branding should be strong and consistent.
    This space for rent.

Hey bridge are you saying you have yet another version of oem vs with an even smaller beam ??
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

It was discussed earlier in this thread for the lower powered lasers, but quick question re the higher powered laserwaves. For example the 4W or 5W models, are any of the models (oem-v or otherwise) dual tec w/ heat and cool ? I'm just curious as will be looking to buy something in that range soon and looking at the options.

I can imagine the larger pump diode even below threshold would be putting out some heat and may be enough to get the crystal close to temperature. But at the same time I'm definitely in need of good cold weather performance, and also my shows often require quick bursts of laser with long idle periods in between. So being able to rise to full power quickly is a feature that would make a big difference for me.

I've been thinking about adding a baseplate heater to get everything to a steady temperature, but I'm also questioning if that would really work. As the tec provides insulation from the baseplate anyhow, the effects of warming the baseplate may not necessarily translate to a warmer crystal..

    Thanks,

    Miles

    m0f,

Bridge did in fact indicate that they will be looking at dual heat and cool temperature regulation. This, however might be some time and might affect the cost. I still stand by my suggestion that a base plate heater for such cold whether operation would be a good idea irrespective of the DPSS. Aluminum (most base plates) has about the highest thermal expansion coefficient of any metal. Mix that with glass lenses, brass mounts and stainless steel screws and misalignment seams a very real risk. Aluminum also has a very high thermal conductivity and so a couple of distributed resistance heaters could keep the plate near the temperature at which the components were aligned. Add to this the protection against condensation at high humidity levels and this seems to me to by a good idea.

I have found in the lab that at typical 20C temps the laser can sit idle for an hour and immediately reach max power with a 5V modulation signal.
