Default Neolaser - Pangolin firmware issue

I've been working with a friend, trying to get his Neolaser LDPSSRGB Optic laser beam table working.

Unfortunately the hard drive which had the Cypher Live Pro installed crashed and he had to run the laser with Livepro. Livepro seems to have locked the built in FB3-SE to livepro drivers and now the FB3 is not functioning with Cypher (no beam table functionality).

On start-up Cypher detects the FB3 but states that it requires an update, however NeoLaser are no longer in existence and the Pangolin updater states that there is no ping response (not sure if this is because we are trying to roll back the firmware to an older version - 7.25 to 6.49 or because Neo's servers no longer support it.
The update window is that of Pangolin, rather than Neo, so it's all a bit confusing.

Pangolin have stated that they are not allowed to support Cypher hardware due to a licensing issue, although I think that Pangolin are going to try and give some advice, from what my friend says, however I thought I would ask in here, as there is such a wealth of experience and someone may have come across this issue before.

    Any advice would be appreciated

ps the laser is for sale if anyone is interested

I've got a build of Cypher LivePro somewhere which might work; I'll dig it out.

    Thanks Dan

Not sure if it is the software or the firmware, but it's worth a try. I think the software does something to the DAC that has so far been undoable, although we can't find the files required to flash the dac firmware.

I've just checked, and it doesn't work with 725. Sorry.

I think that might be our problem, may need to roll back the firmware.

    Thanks anyway

    Hi Keith,
I've got Cypher Live Pro 1922 and Cypher Lite 801, although I suspect it will be the same result as Dan's, but may be worth giving it a go.
It sounds like your friend has the same older FB3 as me (the one with the card reader). Pangolin originally supplied NeoNeon with FB3's under licence, together with a 'Neo' specific version of LivePro.
In the end I had to bite the bullet and pay for a new licence in order for me to use Pangolin's LivePro/QS etc

    Thanks RGbee

I'll point my friend to this thread.
We have been trying to get this going in order to sell the laser, so don't really want to spend any money on it.

Yes, it's the old FB3 with the card reader.

We have tried a fresh install of Cypher to no avail.

It is almost certainly a firmware issue, so unless we can find someone who has the Neo firmware update on their hard drive, I don't think their is anything we can do.
