from what i've seen the higher power melles grillot 532 lasers have very bad modulation. you would most likely want to use an AOM or mechanical blanking.

They are melles griot, which I don't have any experience with.
From what I gather they'd accept any reasonable offer, however I'm not sure what to offer. The main problem being that can buy 5W of cni or laserwave for not that much these days, and they're much smaller and come new with warranty. I've always leaned towards the chinese brands due mainly to the price but also the quality seems predictably decent, parts are available, etc.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions. If pricing were similar or a little bit better than equivalent cni or laserwave, would it be a wise choice to purchase a melles griot. What is their reputation for quality ? How are parts for sourcing ? How well do they modulate for laser show purposes ?
They are quite massive, the power supplies are huge. This alone is a bit of a deterrent, but if quality and other aspects would potentially be better I might be inclined to give them a try.
The powers are supposed to be 2.5W, 5W and 10W. However I can't find any info online or indication that melles griot manufacturers lasers at that power level. Haven't had an up close peek at them yet.
Thanks,
Miles
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
