    5W power lasting one year if you are lucky;

    Buy a Coherent Taipan 5W or Jenoptic D2.5 ; they cost over double the price but last 20 x longer.

    What about for the audience?

    Sorry Winnin I'm very much on your side with all the wonderful offers you make on here but I question the wisdom in your company making these units at all.

    Something like this is going to be used in an unregulated environment (you can't verify safety where the distance to the audience might move with the performer) and ultimately is likely to result in someone suffering eye damage. In turn that could then cause draconian restrictions on the whole industry that would not just hurt the display industry and restrict what people could buy, but hurt your sales as well.

    Your managers should really consider removing these products from the market as its in your longer term interests as well as those of all professional laser show companies / laser hobbyists. Imagine if hobbyists in Europe could no longer buy / own laser projectors and ebay was banned from selling them....where would the sales figures be then. That might sound like fiction but only 1 or 2 incidents could trigger that. In the UK many types of fireworks were banned after a just a handful of incidents......

    I agree with Whitelite but also want to add that selling these helps people to copy the original Laserman show; the Laserman show was invented by Theo Dari. I wonder if winni is prepared to pay Theo Dari some royalty for using his title.

    The concern isn't the safety board ie scanner failure, but MPE levels. The problem is many laserman style shows take place in very close proximity to the audience and many from actually within it.

    3 or 5W is a lot of energy from only a few feet and potentially many thousands times MPE.

    I really don't think selling Laserman style wearable high power projectors is in your interests or the interests of the industry as a whole because if the industry gets shut down in Europe / the US to just an elite few companies following an incident, then sales of every projector dry up.

    Just my 2 cents though.
