    Dear Sir,

Above pic of 2.5w rgb is with ELECTRONIC SHUTTER.
And all of our lasers are with electronic shuttler, if customer prefer mechanical shutter, we can also do it.
    Any question else?

    Hey Bradfo69 & Norty303...

Emir from FDA told us if some body suspect or want to us show US variance #, just need to show them documents attached.
So, the answer is a YES, YES we HAVE US variance # and we HAVE electronic shuttler, case interlock switches, interlock keys, 5s delay, e-stop, emission light, labels..............
Or you guys can email to FDA.
We will submit 2014 annual report to FDA months later.

Thank you for sharing that. I'd already heard from a number of people that Able had some varianced projectors. Able is to be commended for taking the steps and initiative to do that. Hopefully more Asian based manufacturers follow in your footsteps.

Able Lasers- Good Job!!!! You are a GREAT example for the Chinese Market! Lets hope more follow in your foot steps. I have also seen first hand some of your projectors, and I must say, quality is not too shabby! I mean, its no Luminance system but among some of the best i have seen from China!

    Keep up the good work!

What would the mechanical shutter look like? Just curious.

Not-suggesting these are what's used in the 'Ables', but.. here's a couple examples of 'types' of 'em used in Pj's - More-commonly found in the 'old skool' Ion-pj's, (cuz they're kinda biggish..) the GM-20- (either OEM or Jap-clone, as shown, here..) style, with varying-width 'flag' (wider or even angled in higher-power sys's..) :

ID:	42556 ..which have models that are very-compact, and millions-cycle-reliable...

..The reason they are desireable, even in a 'digitally-blanked' solid-state PJ, is that, unless circuitry is expressly-designed to deal with it, it's possible to have a 'transient-spike' make its way thru the 5V-rail / into modulation-inputs, and 'force out' a full-strength beam, when not-wanted. Often, on 'cheaper' Chijector-systems, this happens when power is lost (or sometimes, first-applied..) and can-result in a hot-beam out the window (and maybe in someone's face.. >.< And, this can even happen in more 'pricey' / HQ-systems (I have seen this happen in a $25K Kvant..:/

..but the 'mech-shutter', with it's spring-loaded arm / rotor-plate, upon losing (or interrupting, via an Interlock-loop / e-Stop..) power, will *very-quickly* 'snap closed', and prevent that beam from 'escaping'... Yes, under the IEC-standard, it's not always "required", but.. One can also 'drive w/o seat belts'.. Clearly, there are some things that may not be 'necessary', but are 'just a good idea'..

    Hope this helps..

PS - Just-seeing the Able 'Ledex-style' mech-shutter.. Very nicely done..

I have their mech shutter in my current 2.5w from them. it works very well. Its even audible when i hit blackout haha.

the two new units on the way from them will have electronic shutters.
