Try searching the Internet for "clip-art". There are lots and lots of collections available for free, and they are usually very simple drawings that translate well into laser artwork.

What software are you using ?
If Quickshow or Beyond, best to just play around with the shape generator, a bit of trial and error in the beginning and just playing around it's surprising what you can come up with. Another way is start with an existing cue and modify it, for instance I duplicated the page of fans and then adding webbing between the beams and changes the colours which totally changes the look.
Another way is to just add effects and when you find something you like paste output to a new cue.
And if just for personal use, open up some shows from pangolin show space and open up the editor and if you find any you particularly like, you can drag them out on the workspace. However I find many of the submitted shows just use the built in cues anyhow.
i use lsx .

You really don't need frame packs to create beam show content.
Flat lines, curves, circles, squares, triangles, rows of dots and random dots are about all you need.
Mix up with colour cycles, blanking cycles, etc and you have all of the core elements of a good beam show.
One of the better beam shows I've seen recently used VARY simple frames, but excellently synced with the music and punchy.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I don't think anyone completely understands LSX!
Have you watched CMB's Tutorials or Swamidog's Selem talk?
Although Swami's talk is based on abstracts there are lots of tips and tricks you could use for beam shows (I'm playing with one now between working on abstracts).
I find working with abstracts quite hard work - not in a bad way but because I learn so much about LSX while I'm pushing buttons with no clue to what they are going to do. It's worth trying some just to see what is possible, then transfer the knowledge over to some beam shows. You will soon get some inspiration, I am sure
