    Default Pangolin scanners

Has pricing been released on one or two units yet or are the bulk only? Can they run off china drivers?

Looked around but couldn't find it mentioned. Thanks

The photodiodes are reversed in polarity (with good reason) in the high speed Pangolin scanners, thus most existing amps need a modified and re-calibrated front end. Saturns, to perform optimally, probably need a bit different output stage impedance then older technology. So you may not achieve full performance with a generic older amplifier, but yes, it can be done.

Pangolin has a reasonably priced DSP based dual servo amp for the Saturn series that is mind blowing. It was demoed at Selem. It has software based manual tuning, self tuning, diagnostic scope outputs, and of course you can store different tuning setups. That last sentence does not do it justice.

The Compact 506 series, is to replace low cost Scanners, at ~30+ Kpps, with a very large mirror will work with a older amp with no changes.
Compact-506 is not released for general consumption yet, but it is coming and its not vaporware by any means.

    Steve,

How do you know what you know? I have been waiting patiently for any update from them about anything. I would like to try whatever the current release is that they have available. At least last year there was "we will have to be ready by P. West" even if that wasn't much. Do they have a version of the Compact -506 that will run on something and will run better on their DSP when it becomes available?
