    Hey Guys-
    Another update:

I am following one last lead for a warehouse space a few miles from campus that we may be able to get temporary access to, and working in the mean time on reserving us a few rooms on the MIT campus in case it falls through.

In the mean time for scheduling, feel free to arrive Friday night, and if we end up going the on-campus route I will be available to accept gear for most of the evening (contact me via PM with your travel plans before coming please!) Friday the 24th, like last year we can plan to get a bit of a late start around lunchtime on Saturday, we can tour some of the interesting spots on campus and start setting up, and start the real fun around sunset.

As far as lunch, (TechJunkie) lets hold off on the pig roaster but if you want to bring sandwiches that would be amazing. The BBQ will be a little bit of a stretch, if you have your heart set on it we can go to the grad student apartment complex (about 1/4 mile away) or the undergrad dorms (even closer) and use their BBQ facilities. If you want to show off your sound gear feel free to bring it, the MIT conference rooms have a decent sound system built in, but in particular if we end up in the warehouse anything will be better than the speakers I have!

In regards to your other question, I am not exactly sure what you are asking, but so far all I really know that we will have is Planters rig (up to about 50w now between the 3 projectors) running on Pangolins software and my little projector running on LFI player, he had a few shows that he made last year but for the most part we were just playing around with our gear and having a good time.

If anyone has further questions feel free to post or PM me (I will do my best to be available this week now that I am back in town and the event is this weekend). If you need to get a hold of me ASAP e-mail your phone number to NELEM@krazerlasers.com and I will call you back ASAP (that will go strait through to my phone).

Uhg, I got a PM from Planters saying it was a no go, and we would try again in the spring. After the news I told my girlfriend I didnt need the car anymore and she got put back on the schedule at work. So....

The pig roast was kind of a joke. It takes up to 24 hours to prepare, and cook the pig. Its more of a best case scenario type of project. Sub-freezing conditions, on an MIT campus, for a handful of people is not best case scenario, LOL. Sandwiches, and sides would not have been a problem though.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good time. Please take plenty of pictures. I'll try to be 100% ready next time. Its not anyone's fault. My living situation doesn't give me room for short notice events. This has not been the first I missed, and I'm sure it wont be the last. Its kind of good in a way because my girl wont lose a days pay now.

    Have fun fellas!!!!

    Mark

I would like to go, but the short notice will mean that if I go I will probably only be able to bring two projectors and a smaller crew. Will anyone else be participating?

I could make it with my projector and a sound system--so a repeat of last year--which was fun, don't get me wrong, but it would mean just 2 PL'ers myself and Planters and crew. My suggestion is to postpone this weekend's meet, find a venue far in advance, and a date far in advance so that we can get more involvement of people on the forum. There is a PL'er not 1 mile from my house, Andrew/DLS of Dynamic-lasers.com, who can not make it this weekend, but who is very interested in participating in the meet. I can offer a venue, a 30,000 sq foot indoor riding arena, that can be smoked without the fear of fire alarms going off, and plenty of space for a pig roast. We can do the show indoors or not. More importantly, I'm 40 minutes from MIT--we could set up in the arena (no horses for the weekend, they will not mind), do a day trip to MIT to visit Krazer, come back, do the show, and then break down the next day. The great thing about the arena idea, is that we can be very flexible about the date, so that we can can get as many people involved--but the weather will have to be better (warmer).

That sounds awesome Rick, thank you for putting it out there. You're much closer to me too.

    Rick,
That sounds good to me as well. I don' mean to disregard Krazer's efforts. I think everyone involved appreciates them. I will be able to bring 4 projectors with a good lead time and a I may have a Saturn scanner to face off against the EMS 8000, I just installed. Lots of smoke when desired will be nice as well.

    So...
In light of the recent news, I am thinking it is time to call the NELEM off (at least for now) and try to find a better time for people, and seriously investigate the plan of having it at Fearless's place, (possibly with a morning at MIT, or something along those lines).

We can tell everyone that we called it quits because of the snow storm

Its really impressive that you guys can come together this fast to make this happen in the near future. It shows love, generosity, dedication, and persistence. Everything I admire. I'm happy to be a part of it. Thank you.
