I completed a couple cases recently which accommodate tight space constraints. They ended up looking kind of comical, so I thought I'd share.
The cases are aluminum and nothing special on the inside with output of about 1.9W each. They were made as large as possible for continued expansion and as such they barely fit in their intended enclosures. Thankfully, they have plenty of breathing room once they are pushed into place and the fans are placed appropriately for their destination. As you can see below, they slide in to fit within the available space between wall joists and press up against the drywall on the far side as shown here:
Since they are silly looking, I decided to name these babies "Tweedle-Dee" and "Tweedle-Dum". This represents the current limit of my skills with my "low-rent mill" - which consists simply of a jigsaw and a drill press.
Also, here's a video of a quick show I put together that shows Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum in action.
Also note that this has been my wife's favorite song for about six months, which I admit which causes me some slight concern.
