I don't think I was on the fence with my post. Personally, I wouldn't buy a projector with such slow galvos, period. This is why I pointed out the fact of the slow galvos.

However, some people don't care about graphics. I've met folks that think 10 K is plenty fast enough. (And it is, if all you ever do is beamshows.) So if Instinct is only looking for a beams projector, then it would work for his application. Likewise, if he doesn't want to go through the hassle of assembling it himself, then the price isn't unreasonable. I didn't enumerate all of this in my post, but it should have been obvious.

As for my own tastes, I would rather buy a faster set of galvos and assemble it myself to save some money, and end up with a nicer projector. But I value graphics as well as beams, so I'd want the faster galvos.

The price of the 100 mw unit is a little higher than the price of some other projectors I've seen on E-bay, but not terribly so. If Instinct likes the features of the unit and no one knows of any pressing reason why he shouldn't deal with that seller, then it might well suit his needs. Just because it's not something that you or I would buy doesn't mean it's junk.

Now, the 150 mw projector is *way* overpriced no matter how you look at it.

So how, exactly, does all that make me a "cross-bencher"?
haha.. i knew exactly what you meant, although I'm still not exactly sure what cross-bencher means either. Yea, I did notice how the rings didn't look so smooth. One of the reasons why I wanted that one and why I think it's more pricey than other 100mw projectors is because of the ILDA, but if the graphics don't look that good, it does seem kind of pointless. I wish I knew the basics of building my own project, i don't have a even soldering iron. It does sound like something I would enjoy doing though.

The cross-benchers are often viewed as bringing specialist knowledge to the House, since they have usually been created peers for reasons other than party or political affiliation.
They normally get their peerage for giving back handers.

These scanners are optomized for use with Pangolin and will outperform other brand 20K scanners due to the scanner meeting ILDA scanning standards and the partnership with Pangolin in the development of the Cypher LivePRO package..
I would wait for Bill Benner (Pangolin) to reply as he will know what they are capable of if they were indeed developed in partnership with Pangolin.

I know Bill is going to the ILDA conferance at the weekend and they are busy preparing for that, Adam will be meeting with Hayden at the weekend so if Bill doesn't reply then Buffo may be able to get the low down off Hayden.
