    Red face A little nostalgic.

I worked in the disco between 1991-95. We used the Russian 3 phase water cooling Argon laser. We used Low scanning system 1000pps (Emalog) and single or dual step motor with mirrors pad.
We used only manual controler with Step motor and manual controler the sacnner. Single or rectangle signals, frequenzy modulatios..ect. Lot of potenciometer and buttons.
The laser output power usually 3-5watt, but we beam is divided into two or three bundles. (tipical: 50% green / 50% Blue).
The was laser is big and ca 100-120kg.

The Biggest kombinatios was, then rarely is combinated the water colling Russian Argon + water colling Russian Red Krypton Laser.
The water tube life time is very changed, not was stability. Typical 300 to 1000 hours.
These lasers in laboratium and military airports were used. (landing direction was in when weather foggy).

Later time, some laser users, tried used the Spectronika (Bulgaria) air cooling Gas laser, But the was lot of problems them. (ca: 45-50kg and usually 5-6Watt green/yellow output).

Some litle club, try used russian 40mw Red He-Ne laser, but that is too lower visible power and the puclic usually on smiled.

Then from 1994 the compjuter is and D/A card is received. (Comodore and 283/386 pc.)

From 1995 new era. (PC, Spectra and Coherent multicolour lasers...ect.)

Sorry, I haven't pictures the old laser technic. :-(

    Good old days....
Many years ago in a disco i saw a few watts(1-5???) copper vapor (???) greenish CW ion laser that shots a low cost DIY beam table with a lot of mirrors, shutters and a relative slow galvanometric scanner controlled by a funny and a big big MIDI (???)controller pad that contained a lot of buttons some faders a coloured LCD screen keyboard and a trackball(early mouse)
I dont remember who was the manufacturer and when it was made.
My enthusiasm has been started about lasers.
    It was 2002.
    Good old days....

    Luxury.

When I was a kid we used to wake up middle of road in WET paper bag, drink 2 litres of sulfuric acid, lick lake clean.

You tell young people today they won't believe ya.

Right. I had to get up in the morning, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of poison, and work 29 hours a day at the mill.

And when we got home, our dad would kill us and dance about in our grave.

You didn't post/attach any pictures or links.

I love pictures of CVL/CuBrVLs. I am especially looking for a shot of the inner guts.

Anyway, this isn't a thread about me

I'm happy for you for being there on the laser front-line.

I am very jealous of the veterans that've been doing this for decades.
