I experienced this story as a planetarium show back in 1977 (also narrated by Leonard Nimoy but with other people supplying voices, too). The planetarium was in Florida. I believe my family stopped there while on the way to Miami from Orlando (or it might have been in Miami).

I still remember some of the graphics and would love to see them again (as well as hear Leonard Nimoy narrate it again). Also, I'm curious which planetarium/science center I saw this at. (It's probably a long-shot that I'll find all this--though it only took me a a few minutes to find out which story it was*.)

Maybe it'll turn up on YouTube sometime.

*I searched "Planetarium show," "Leonard Nimoy," and "1970s," and immediately Isaac Asimov's The Last Question came up. In 1977, I was only nine; I had no idea where the story came from.)

Wow, this is a hard nugget to dig up. I did not succeed either, but I did run across this, which may be of tangential interest:

Miami Space Transit or Bishop at Bradenton?
Back then Florida had more laser shows per mile then anywhere else. But my guess would be one of those two.
Saw stuff at Bishop that was awesome.

This is an old thread. But, I find it amusing because I have a friend that I have know for 27 years and just recently found he used to help work the laser shows as the Abrams planetarium. Not exactly sure when, though.
