    Default Beyond Problems

    Hi Guys,

Quick question to anyone who has beyond. When using the live control section in beyond and then pushing the reset button nothing happens (this is the case if I press it on the laptop screen or on the APC) I have contacted pangolin twice and haven't had any response. I asked a mate if he was having the same problem and he was.

Are any of you guys having this problem or do you know how to fix it??

When you say 'nothing happens', what do you mean? Do you mean you have added rotation on x/y/z axis and it doesn't reset when you hit the button, or something else?
Also, it would be useful to know what build you are using.

How did you contact Pangolin? They are normally exceptionally responsive.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Unfortunatly there is no reset zone option in quickshow/beyond. You can only mute a track. (which sucks)

I hope this feature will be there when protracks are finished

    Hi John,

First let me say that I am sorry that you have not had any responses. That is ***REALLY*** strange. We have several people on the Pangolin staff, on two separate continents who are full time customer support people. So I'd like to hear how it is that you tried to contact Pangolin, when it was, etc. Our email system is fully monitored and traceable, so if you sent an email to ANYONE, we'll be able to find it, trace it, and figure out what happened. Please let me know.

Ironically, I'm going to ask you to contact me personally (at the risk that the contact will be dropped -- but I think this is an infinitesimally small risk) using our contact form at www.pangolin.com/contact. Select William Benner as the contact and write your question there. For sure I will answer.

Now, to answer your more general question -- the reset buttons in the various places reset items to their default position. If something is already in a default position, they you won't really see anything happen. Also note that if you right-click on practically any dial or slider or spinner control, it will reset that control to its default location.

McCarrot, I'm not so sure that what you are saying here is true. Did you look in the menu of the Projection Zones dialog box? Please contact me as well, because I'd like to chat with you about other topics.

Finally let me take this opportunity to point something else out. If BEYOND doesn't have a button to let you do something that you want to do, it's really no problem at all. BEYOND has a full scripting language that allows you to access literally every single object inside BEYOND and so with this, you can make your own button to do your own thing. That button can be placed anywhere -- on the cue grid, or even on the tabs on the top, bottom, maximized window, or anywhere else.

We have a rough document to describe all of this, but since it's in a rough form right now, it is not distributed with BEYOND. If you're interested please contact me. Also feel free to ask any questions in our own PangoScript forum which can be found here:

    Best regards,

    William Benner

Hi cheers for the replies. It's not a case of when the sliders and knobs are in default position it's the reset all live control button that's not working on my beyond. Very handy to know about the right click to reset individual things tho
I am using beyond build 588.

I will drop you an email Bill cheers.

Maurice, there is a dialogue to Reset All Zones:

Projection Zones > Edit > Reset to default all zones.

    Hope this helps.

Alternatively, if you mean in the Preview Window so you can reset on the fly, then I'm not aware of a dialogue beyond "use cues preferred zones".
