Seems the 506 is €2340 cheaper than the CT6215-HP![]()
Note that from the picture on the website, those look like being just the glavos on someone elses amps.
Given that Pangolin have been shipping quantities of 506's to OEMs, I don't doubt that any time soon you're going to be able to pick up a number of projectors with 506's installed.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
The digital amps have no pots and the pots on this scanner do, although they do look similar.
Can't wait to see what the new amps will do![]()
Yes, we just delivered a number of these to Kvant. They were one of the early adopters, and also the first to receive our Saturn 5 last year as well. I believe this will be their standard scanner offering.
The amp you see is their amp. That's one of the reasons why they were able to be an early adopter of our scanners. Kvant, HB and a few others already make their own scanner amp, so all they needed is the scanners.
There will be a number of projectors at Prolight & Sound that incorporate our scanners -- not only from Kvant, but others as well. In fact, it has been our contractual requirement to fill these orders which has put a crimp in our ability to deliver scanners to a few people here on PL. Basically we're digging our way out of some past orders. But I do believe after Prolight we'll be able to fill the orders for more people here on PL as well.

When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.
Yes. I beleive Bill explained what was added in terms of components in the 506 review thread. So I know if I can afford a set. Would dt40 amps need modification ?
You'd stand much more chance of a response if you email them and ask the question. Its the Guangzhou Fair at the moment so at least Justin is over there and busy.Any chance you can pm me a guide price ?

If you've got an hour to prop your feet up...
Wanna see 90k?
Yes. In the beginning of this video, we show Saturn 1 running at 30K (ILDA test pattern nearly full size at 30K), and at 60K (ILDA test pattern at 8 degrees -- don't be fooled by exaggeration of other companies claiming to go bigger...) and then finally at 90K.
If you look closely, when we're running at 90K there are some streaky lines here and there. When I tried it at our shop the day before, it looked perfect. But then I had a fan cooling the amp. Here the amp was sitting on top of the projector with no cooling of any kind -- plus, we demonstrated 90K after demonstrating complete shows at 30K and 60K and at large angles. So the amp was pretty hot by then...
During this demonstration, 90K was at a relatively small, but still really usable angle as you see. And I believe with a small modification on the amp, this can be improved -- perhaps dramatically. (During the first few months of 2014, all of my time has gone into preparing for, and then exhibiting at trade shows. After I get back from Prolight, I'll be able to finally sit down and get some quite time for optimization.)
At around 30 minutes we show the Compact 506 running with the cheapest Chinese amp I've ever seen. You can see grid test pattern at full size and still holds together quite nicely. Then we ran the entire Revelation show at virtually full size with no noticeable heat rise on the scanners.
Sure, there are other scanners on, and coming onto the market. But look at the performance we're getting here! Performance speaks for itself...
