In fact I sent a BUNCH of mirrors (many sizes and from many manufacturers) to Planters. We're investigating several topics simultaneously. It's a bit too early to draw conclusions about the other topics, but believe me, reflectivity in the blue is not going to be a problem...

Is it still possible to reserve/purchase a set of these amps?

OK, I and my partner had a talk with our source in China. A pair of amps from us, tuned to our pair of 506 scanners and modified would retail for 110$ + Shipping.
I have to commit a considerable amount of my own cash to do this, so please let me know if your interested. This will not be a group buy, this is retail.

The same amps optimized for the Ebay 6810s or stock 6800HP would be 116.50 for the pair, which is the cost difference of the horribly expensive mating connectors, plus our taking a bit of a loss in the margins..

The initial batch would be in stock delivery from the US, once modified. I am not ordering them piece by piece, but in a batch, and the mods would be done here.

My 506s and the TII have returned from Florida, so hopefully the review can re-commence soon.

Bill is working on activating the Coil Temperature Calculator on the clone amps, where it is omitted. The slots are on the board for the components. However the values of the resistors have to be chosen and tested. As Bill is in the best position to measure the dissipation in the scanners, the engineering needs to come from Bill.

I can give those who have requested boards a option. I can start production now, or we can wait for the CTC, which scales down the image as overheating is approached. As one will be typically pushing 506 to the limits, I can see why some would want the CTC circuit active. CTC uses a out of production chip, but Bill and I have both located enough for the future. The boards run just fine without the CTC, however it is good insurance.

Please let me know how buyers wish to proceed, so I can get this party started. Everything is in place for boards without CTC and the boards are here.
