suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
cool nice to see some other pangolin people here... ya I had a tour of pangolin a long long time ago (maybe 10 years ago or so?) when I first bought my QM2k setup
really cool to see stuff being made here (and bill was working one some Saturn I scanners... mmmm 90kpps...)
really really thinking of Saturn I scanners... just to make lazymame playable![]()
Thank you, Steve. Given that you have now worked on a full batch, I am curious to know if this is a venture you're going to continue with? Granted, I am sure a lot of things were ironed out in the first batch, making subsequent batches easier, cheaper, better. The amount of work you have put in is awesome and at next SELEM, I owe you a round of beers![/QUOTE]
On version two, the cables will come from some where else, perhaps off shore. Either that or the end user will make the cables. 15 more pairs are setting here. Pricing will be a little higher as my costs keep rising. I can have the boards made pre-modded, but I'm a little weary of giving away the sekret sauce.
A set of AMPS is going down to Bill tomorrow for the latest mod revision.

Hi guys,
On the amp front, we're basically at capacity with fulfilling orders. We're delivering now, but to a large theme park, who ordered as many systems as we could build in two months. Success can be a double-edged sword...
Bill
Hi Bill, so are Pangolin amps for 506 available?
Thanks
The scanner cables are the slowdown. I can pre-test, pre-tune, Mod, post test and really tune a pair of amps in under 40 minutes. Once in a while the linearity might fight me and add 10-15 more minutes to that. Making the cables right and testing them takes far longer.
Quote from Domestic US maker of Cables to another 506 User, ~50$ per cable. I'm in the process of requesting a quote, offshore. I'd need to see really good build quality before I off-shore the cables.
As Bill says, "Success is a two edged sword."

Why isn't Pangolin making the cables (or having them made)? Seems like they are necessary requirement and since each galvo requires one cable and would be cheaper since they could do it in bulk. Granted, the amp end might not match everyone's amp but maybe it would be easier and cheaper to just cut off the amp end and put to correct connector on it. I know I am stating the obvious here so I guess there is a good reason.
