ID:	45052I received my amps a couple of weeks ago and have finally Got my 506 scanners running in my new green projector.
I must say that I am VERY impressed with the performance of the scanners and driver boards. The drivers were perfectly tuned for my scanners
(Thank you Steve!) and the resulting images and animations are essentially flawless. Driven hard at 30Kbps the total power consumption does not exceed
36 watts which allows over one hour operation on batteries. Maximum projector power consumption is 60W. Currently this projector is set for 500mw maximum output out the window which is safely below
the current limit for my Quantum Gem Laser.
Thank you Steve and Pangolin for making this possible.

here are a pair of 506's with Steve's amps running the first 6 min of Pink Floyd echos(mike dunn show)in my opinon one of the toughest shows on the scanners
from about 30" from the screen at almost 1:1 (a little less)

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I'd say that's pretty good if really projected at a distance of 30 inches. That's a big scan angle for a graphics show.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

His scanners were tuned at 8 degrees/ 30K and he's running at ~50 degrees 30K off ADAT tape with no geo or speed correction etc.. I've seen that show in person and it looks GOOD at the wide angle. We had it wrapped around the floor and ceiling of his lab.

well actually that was played back via a wav file via the mini dsp usb to optical and the DZ optical to ilda converter
but yea the same as if it were adat so with that said i have no blanking shift or optimization settings to adjust (and i legally own this show and a bunch of others from first light)

but like i said it was a little less than 1:1 id say about a 25" image from 30" away so about 45°
at 8° the image would be about 4.2"

Due to two lost boxes that the postal service listed as 1. delivered 2. lost, all future shipments of 506 amps shall be signature required. I did have tracking on the shipments.

That sucks, Steve. I don't think I have had even a single USPS package go missing, ever.

Thankfully mine arrived safely via Pangolin headquarters last week. I just hooked up one set last night on a new build and at first glance things look fine. I did ensure that the 506's were securely bolted down first though, as I am convinced the 5mm Y mirror is capable of taking the whole assembly aloft.
