    Question Fog Vs Haze

I have a small 400 watt fog machine, but I was thinking about getting a Hazer machine. Does anyone have one? Do they beams look as nice in Haze as they do with fog? I am planning on throwing some parties when I get my new laser and fog smells and does get stuff, and Haze just creates.. well a thin Haze. It seems like it would be better if you are going to have people in a crowded room and it's supposed to be easier to breathe.

I have both a haze machine and a fog machine, and I have to tell you I much prefer haze. It's very uniform so you don't get faded or invisible spots with your lasers, and it's not nearly as noticeable to everyone (except when a laser goes off!), yet your laser looks almost as bright as in fog! Fog does do a slightly better job showing the beam if there is a cloud of it, but haze will make the beam of a 35mw still quite visible, and acts about the same as a room saturated in fog. I only prefer to use fog if I'm going for tunnel effects now, since the haze "liquid sky" effect isn't nearly as dramatic as fog. I actually prefer most effects with haze too, because haze has a very smooth look to it, which in the end makes for crisper pictures and is more pleasing to the eye, in my opinion.

Anyway, it cost a little bit, but I love it! I use it in a warehouse, and it fills it in about 15 minutes, and my lasers just have a field day.

Cool thanks a lot.. I was pretty sure I was going to go with a hazer anyways.. Now I just gotta figure out how much I want to spend on one.

I have both fogger and hazer, over here in the uk the pubs and clubs have started banning foggers because of the likelyhood of them setting off smoke/fire alarms. They don't notice if you use an hazer because you can set it to haze slowly and its virtually invisable and smell free.
It does a good job of showing the lasers and other intelligent lighting.

Yup, hazers win out any day of the week.

We usually use a Antari HZ-400, they are pretty good

Anyone got any experience of these:

Or, of hazers of similar tiny size?

doesn't look like the could hold much fluid, or generate too much heat for the fog. I'd like to see one in real life though.

For $1400 I think I would rather have a full size hazer.

It doesn't matter how much it holds, if you attach a feed pipe to a big bottle, and with a PD controller the heat can be stabilised in a small high power heater at very high speed as with a high power soldering station.

If it's expensive I'm not interested though, it should be possible for it to be small and not cost too much.

On the subject of fluid quantity, I have an old Martin 700 fogger, it holds a litre bottle that lasts for weeks. It's good fog too, hangs in the air for longer than the hour rated for water based haze. If that's anything to go by, a really small hazer must be possible.
