Default QuickShow Question. X,Y Size very small but don't turn power down

Hi, when you turn the X and Y down very small in QuickShow, the power automatically drops to keep the beam safe.

But if I want to target a mirror ball with a frame, turning down the X and Y so the frame fits on the ball causes the power to sink down to much for the bounced beams to have any effect.

Is it possible to turn this feature off?

    Thanks

    Graham

I didn't know that, wonder if it's the same in Beyond. I can't say I've ever noticed it happening in testing, and I do use zero size and very small sizes in zones when setting up the sensitivity of my scanfail.
Do you actually see the brightness slider reduce or any visual indication?

However, I can't remember which software (Beyond, QS, LivePro) it is in, but can't you load frames instead of single points into the beam target system? That seems to be the better way of handling targetting.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

That's interesting. Maybe assigning them to a different zone (overhead for instance or maybe Zone 30) might work.

Using QuickTargets Beams may be more useful in this situation?

    Cheers guys.

I can not see QuickTargets....it's not in the bottom tabs of Quick(blar) anyway. I'll try and find it.
And also try to play with the targeting stuff. I looked at the targets in the default ones that come with it set up but I couldn't get them to do anything.

They are a bit hidden away as they are somewhat more dangerous than scanned effects, which is a good call for Pangolin.

Yes I defo have feedback that the beams get less powerful. For one I can see it in real life and second I can see in the preview window that a white splurge turns slowly greyer and greyer then finally disappears.

Setting a que to projection zone 30 still causes it to fade out when I make it smaller

Interesting, setting to zone 30 doesn't work either - I guess it's a pretty secure safety feature - hence all the warnings when you enable the Quick Targets Beams.

If you are setting beams up on a mirror ball, it is far safer to have lots of static beams than a small moving effect as it makes it easier to see where your reflections are going with a couple of mirror ball rotations.

Hi Keith. Yeah that's what I'm reverting to doing at the moment.

Hey, I'm in India, safety is not an issue ;-) Just joking
