Default Second Webinar went wrong, never heard about it since ?

    Hi Guys,

I attended the first Beyond Webinar, was totally psyched up and ready to go for the other (second) webinar in December that didn't happen due to technical difficulties. We received a message that it would be recorded and presented to us a later time with the accompanying workspace and some other cool stuff.
Today i realised i didn't see it, nor heared about it ever since.

Is it recorded and placed somewhere, did i miss it, does anyone have it ?

    Kind regards,
    Dimitri

It isn't up Dimitri, I've been checking Pangolin's Youtube account daily.

I think they just caught up with a mass rush for Christmas.

Videos are mostly edited. We're tweaking the sound (equalization) and adding a few captions. My guess is that they'll be uploaded this week.

I believe you can setup email notifications of a video upload of a channel you are subscribed to I recommend you to do that so you don't have to keep visiting the channel every day.

    Great to hear
Don't forget to compress the sound after equalisation though.

I'm not a registered user so I'm not subscribed, but thanks for the heads up. Might be worth joining.

That's a good idea, but I don't think we can. Derek's voice was recorded by Camtasia which --apparently-- in the latest version FORCES noise reduction (in earlier versions you can turn it on and off and adjust it). So Derek's voice already sounds robotic. We're doing the best we can to recover a natural voice from it using two equalizers in series... Makes me wonder if Camtasia was bought by Microsoft, since it's another one of those programs that has seemingly gotten worst with time...

    Bill,

Try pulling a copy of "Audacity" down off the internet (it's free).

It intercepts audio at speaker / input level and so should enable you to record both in Audacity and Camtasia.

If the Audacity file fits the video, (time slip is sometimes an issue in screen capture programs), you could just replace the original audio with the audacity file in the video editor and provided it syncs, then you're good to go. If it doesn't, well nothing lost as you still have the Camtasia one.

Might be worth a trial run with something not important or test media.

With Audacity you can save the captured sound as either MP3 or WAV amongst other formats. You can also trim it to size and apply effects and filters.

Audacity can be found here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

ack! always do noise reduction in post.

i use apple soundtrack for audio sweetening and final cut pro studio for editing.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    +1 for Audacity! Great program.

Though I also have used Cool Edit Pro with good results. (It's not free though.)
