I could live with it. I just thought he might take a dongle back as a condition for a different license type..

I have to yield on this. I was buying urgently needed shoes (based on a very specific recommendation direct from New Balance as I have need of specific design to prevent injury). The eBay seller sportsshoes_outlet took my money, pushed back a delivery date, and has a rush of recent feedbacks citing delivery and refund failure! I am just another poor sap in the queue and will likely have to resort to the small claims court to get money back. I'll also have to spend extra money for shoes after getting another recommendation from New Balance for something I can buy easily without having to resort to sellers who apparently have no ability to deliver what they claim to sell.
I explained that in full so people know exactly why I changed my mind. Shoes in winter come before laser gear. The seller of this package is willing to negotiate license transfer direct with Dr Lava so I have no doubt about the validity and quality of the package. It's the full monty, the dog's proverbials, so I recommend someone take him up on the offer.
The_Doctor, I it is fine that you changed your mind for whatever reason. That is ok. But starting up a public discussion here about your(!) (purchase) concerns here is not quite fine: It might raise concerns and drive away other potentially interested people. - Now pulling back from the sale leaves back a situation worse to me in terms of sale.
As I explained to you via PM: There will not be problem. I will contact Dr Lava and make sure that any license transfer will be done perfectly fine for the buyer.
I do understand that this is a extra effort for Dr Lava, who (I suppose) is more interested in selling the package again.. and it might mean I will have to pay him a certain amount for his extra effort.
Nevertheless we agreed on a very reasonable price .. and told you I paid (approx) 517 Euros last autumn (excluding the 120 Euros tax (US=>Germany) which I also payed). So I think this was a very reasonable price!!
Anyway.
I welcome anyone other interested in the package to send me an PM or so..
And do not get me wrong,.. The_Doctor pulled back from the deal because he had other bills to pay.. which is fine and honest.. So I hope all these discussions do not cast a bad light on this offer.
Cheers
Jens
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
Any concerns I posted were general, they'd apply to anyone selling a system aimed at contol of a hazardous device. Read the last paragraph of my previous post. It states clearly that you are willing to make the negotiation with Dr Lava that guarantees safety for the buyer, and I totally recommend people to buy this package from you. I don't understand your negative interpretation of these events. I'm saying it looks about as good as it can do.
I also stated the reason for my change of mind extremely clearly, precisely so people would not get the wrong idea. I didn't do all this intending that you would get the wrong idea! That's just weird.. I feel like there was no 'right way' to act or speak now. So I'll shut up and vanish as before. It's probably obvious to people by now that I cannot afford to own or operate a laser system with meaningful effect so I'll let it pass and do what I can do, and try to avoid any conflict of interest.
I think that what you've done is exposed that the licensing is a bit of a faff all round, particularly as it involves Dr Lava to be involved in any transfer in order to remain 'legal'. However, I think you are over-egging the situation somewhat, especially with regard to official inspections, etc and its relevance to control of a hazardous device. That is functionality related, not license related, and ultimately fairly unlikely to occur if we have to be realistic about things.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Probably right these days especially if you have good control of whatever event you get into, I just have long memories of times when people were beginning to do raves, or any situation where it was contentious enough that one person's illegality risked bringing loss and harm to others. I'd stopped being involved with setting up punk gigs in derelict buildings, but that bit of personal history left me interested in the illegal rave scene that followed. People would get gear impounded and if they did not have good documentation they didn't get it back, and often it would happen when someone else had done something illegal, and the gear would be impounded anyway, just to stop an event. Later I used to do repairs for people who did such shows, and in several situations became aware that improper documentation can be a reason for authorities to use as pretext to gain control in ways that are as dubious as the things they want to stop. A few years of seeing that kind of thing, or hearing it from people I know, made it important to keep a good record of all legal tenure, however irrelevant it may seem, because it's better protection than not doing it.
When the police or other authority want to act against someone they'll use whatever leverage they can get. It doesn't have to be relevant. Settling such issues are left to courts after the fact, but in many cases it's done to people who can't afford to challenge it anyway, and I heard enough first-hand horror stories to learn severe caution. Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean someone might not try to get you one day. There's a reason that big firms, rich individuals, and many others besides, learn to keep good records, or even keep easy access to lawyers. The only thing I can do is keep good records,. hence the emphasis on that.
Hi everyone, I have been away for some month (so probably did not catch up with all ppl interested). The package is still on sale.
Please send me your vote (via PM). Paypal recommended!
See the first post for details. I am considering a discount of 20-25% fair (bare in mind that I also had to pay import tax of around $180 for EU import, which might not be applicable for a buyer outside of the EU, but nevertheless the total 'loss' for me is around 35-40%).
So if anyone is interested send me a PM.
Otherwise I will go on ebay..
BTW: I checked with DrLava if sale is ok and that license transfer (I have a dongle) is no problem.
regards
Jens
...And did you get a reply from Dr. Lava? Because I have yet to receive one about ANYTHING, hence why I'd be very hesitant to even think about this package.. .Besides, for my budget I wouldn't need all that, just the bare bones stuff to make animations and what not...
