Ikea has Scrim curtains, they are called Lill, and they come two to a pack, 280cm x 250cm or 110" x 98" and they are CHEAP... $4.99 usd for a pair

    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90111980/

They aren't huge, but work well for the first screen, and have a sewn in loop.

..Yes, the 'skeeta-sheen' can be a bit visually-annoying.. Grey seems to have the least-noticeable of the three, but.. also-depends on the 'viewing angle'...

Pro-tip for best-visual presentation is get a to-length section (longer than 10' sec's are avail. thru 'pro' plumbing houses..) of PVC pipe (..and yes, this assumes you had David sew a 'pocket' in the bottom.. works the charm to 'tighten it right-up', for nice, crisp graphics / near-zero wrinkles..

    ie:
    ..10' x 10' w/ to-length 1" PVC.. Plenty of weight to make it nice n' snappy..

..the PVC slides in / out nicely, w/o 'snagging' (like iron or other metal, etc, might..) and the 'sched 80' (grey stuff..) is certainly less of a visual-distraction, than the white..

Cheers, Briggsy, for the suggestion.. Only question would be 'fire-retardency'.. Will the Ikea stuff 'flame-out' / self-extinguish if lit w/ an open flame? The Skeeta does, and that (..plus the custom-sizeability..) is why we've 'standardized' on it, but.. As long as the Ikea stuff will 'pass the Fire Marshall Bill test' then that's quite the value... Certainly-great for quickie demos / studio-shots / personal-giggin'

    cheers..

Keith... As Jon said, check the fire certs on the IKEA stuff. It SHOULD be ok, but be sure to test a corner or somewhere not too noticeable with a lighter to see if it catches or just shoulders out.

I've seen drapes catch fire in dodgy clubs back in the bad old days.
    Not nice.

If it doesn't seem fire proof, some Flamecheck spray from http://www.draxlighting.com/cgi-bin/...lame+Retardant they're nice people to talk to as well and can give you great advice about most USE stuff.
Don't get frightened off by their web prices... they almost always cheaper if you call and talk to a real person!
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

@Jon - Yes, I do weigh them down with 1" grey PVC. You just don't see it in the photos as I hadn't slid it in the bottom pocket yet. (They're stored under the stage.)
