Out of interest, why the UV cure epoxy?
I'm about to mount a wave plate to a cube this weekend and was planning on securing with a blob of epoxy on the top of the cube once I've found the optimum rotation angle. Any reason why this wouldn't work?

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Thanks for the info Jon, you are right, it's probably best to align it and then epoxy it. I talked to my friend Alex and he said I could use his UV Cure Epoxy so I guess I have it covered now.

Keep me up to date with your plans for picking up this ak....

It will work. But, if you use an epoxy with the same refractive index as the optics between them you can eliminate two reflective surfaces. By placing the waveplate against the cube with a little epoxy at the top you may still have a small air space with reflective loss at each face.
