    Default alt.binaries.laserframes

Just spotted this on my newserver yesterday ..no posts and a test message i sent has not shown up a day later ? !

Someone was asking if there was a dedicated newsgroup for laser frames a few months ago i think and someone opened a FTP site ........ at the time I think the consensus was a newsgroup such as above would be better as its easier to access and anon ......... preventing issues if copyrighted material is accidently traded.

Anyways .was moving computers yesterday and need to reset my newsgroup list did a search for the word laser and up popped this one ...

    alt.binaries.laserframes

... looks ideal for trading/swapping frames /shows however I certainly cant see any messages on there and a test message I sent to it has not shown up ........ if its not on your newsserver contact your ISP and ask them to list it , the more ISP that lists it the more propogated it become and therefore the more use it is ! otherwise it will lie dormant and gather dust for internet infinity

    Smile Newsgroup

    alt.binaries.laserframes

Ok Here in Uk its popped up on the BT ( British Telecom ) newsgroup list ........ only noticed it after a reset .

If it aint to die you need to promote it as much as possible and encourage people to take a few minutes and request it from their news ISP, thats the hard bit .Once it starts popping up it kinds of self propagating ,as i understand a lot of the smaller newsservers use lists from other sites rather than maintain their own lists .

TELL PEOPLE WHAT INTERESTING STUFF IS ON THERE !
TELL THEM TO RESET THEIR NEWSGROUP LISTS
IF ITS NOT THERE ENCOURAGE THEM TO EMAIL THEIR ISP

That is easier said than done though as i checked google groups and its not there and also could find no way to add it .
I checked Virgin media ( NTL/blueyonder ) cable comapnies list and its not there and AGAIN i cant find any way to request it from them ...so it is time consuming for people to try and get listed but as i understand it if it starts getting listed to a few then its kind of self propogating . I kinda guess the best way to encourage pople like me to continue the hunt to get it listed to our newsservers is to put stuff up there thats irrassitable and will encourage people to continue the search for ISP contacts .

If you dont mind i volunteer to help you promote and get this newsgroup noticed and gain momentum

I've got a Gmail account, so I logged in and requested that they add alt.binaries.laserframes to Google groups.

I also sent an e-mail to my ISP asking them to add it to their usnet feed.

    Just uploaded Gir n' Pig.ild

Provider I use is easynews also.

Adam: Groups.google has historically not touched alt.binaries, so good luck with that. Your ISP will *hopefully* not police alt.config

    I've never used newsgroups.
Do you have to pay for an account to use them?
I'm on Virgin Media cable (NTL Home BB).
