Thread: PM21 switched mode power supply wire colours?

  1. #1

    Default PM21 switched mode power supply wire colours?

    Does anyone have one of these, that they could tell me what wire colour is what for connection to the PM21 mainboard from the PSU.
    I've had to get a replacement PSU and just wanted to confirm what colour wires are what. ie: +5v, +12v, -12v and ground to the mainboard?? wire colours are red, yellow, black and green...?

    Many thanks,

    Mazz

    Opened it up, unfortunately nothing is labelled on the PSU. If it's a like for like PSU replacement then these pics may help, otherwise, I'll get a meter on it tomorrow! (left tool box at work!)

    Thanks Yag, if you could let me know for sure with the meter that would be marvelous.
    I'm hoping red=+5v, yellow= +12v, black= -12v and green is Ground (0v)

    Many thanks again. It for the above member Aaron. I had to get a replacement supply for the PM21 I have sold him as on receipt the supply has failed. the new supply has one pin extra on it....similar to your picture, but better to be safe than sorry with connections. I got an Astec 40W LPT42 as a replacement for the original.

    Ran the meter over, on this one (and probably worth checking colour/positions on the picture of the square 4 way above, as these things are all hand made!)

    Red = +12V
    Black = -12V
    Yellow = +5V
    Green is 0V

    Hope that helps!
