Default Newbie Seeks Laser Software, Pangolin, etc. I have ishow.

    Hello New Laser Friends,

I finally have all my geeky laser set up
    but have only ishow.

Would anyone like to sell me other
laser softwares for Windows 7 at a much
reasonable price compared to buying new?

    Thank you very much.
May all your laser dreams come true.

I started off on ishow. It works. At the start I focused on getting my machine running safely .

    drmariah;

Where are you located? It would be helpful to know your general location so we can point you towards PL members who may be local to you.

As for software, you may want to contact Bradfo69 here on the forum. He's got a truckload of gear (truckload and a half, really), and I remember him mentioning that he might be willing to sell one of his LD-2000 systems. (Honestly, I was going to buy it, but I just don't have the spare cash right now. )

Brad is a very good guy though, as others here can surely testify. He won't steer you wrong. He can also give you several tips on setting up your system safely. (Like me, Brad is an ILDA-certified Laser Safety Officer.)

Maybe its me, but it looks like he's looking for copies of existing software.

    If I'm wrong I apologize.

I have compiled a list of free software titles I've wrote down while reading this forum. I dont know if its all free, or if they even exists anymore. I haven't got that far yet, but here they are.

That's a nice list you have there... but why isn't it on this page?

I've never wiki'd anything before, I wouldnt even know how to start.

Plus I've done 0 research yet, so I dont know stats, or if they are still available. Its just crib notes for future reference at this point. Trying to get the projector going first.

Feel free to add what you want. You'd probably know more than I do on this topic.

Sorry to hear all you have is ishow. Obviously you are quickly becoming aware of it's shortcomings. Just to clarify, were you trying to find software that works with that DAC, or are you looking to move to a better, more reliable and supported laser software/hardware package?

There are a number of really good choices out there. You mentioned used and I know a number of people could/will jump in with opinions. What are your aspirations with lasers to better give you an answer? Meaning, are you more into beams or graphics? Are you looking to write your own shows or play existing content? Is this for your own personal enjoyment or, do you have aspirations to do things for the public?

There are a number of possibilities out there and each has certain strengths and weaknesses as to what you can do with it.
