In light of the "Kitting out a workshop for building lasers" thread, this was all hand built using no more than a jigsaw to cut the 8mm aluminium plate and a drill press and battery drill, everything else was by hand (spent some time filing the thing square)

Actually one cool thing I did find for the workshop was a vice mounted sheet metal bender http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=TH1763 Although I need to find a bigger one for the cover

Loopee, Very nice build; you really packed alot into a small space. I love checking out homebuilt projectors! Did you use one switching power supply for the scanner set, then one also one for each of your two Laser Diode Driver boards ? And complete with 120VAC power input module and keyswitch...

It would be great to see some beam shots when you get around to it....

Two power supplies are for the scanners (one for the positive rail and the other for the negative rail) an one power supply for the diodes

There coming, just need to finish aligning the beams

I've been toying with the idea of a tinted perspex cover where you can see the internals

    Hey Troy

Now that really is hand made!

Nice work mate. I'm digging the super neat wiring too.

Good find in the mini vice bender. Will def have a look at getting one of those.

Check this handy little rig. 766 PC RIVDRILL INSERT, RIVET NUT CORDLESS DRILL ADAPTOR TOOL KIT M4 TO M10 http://r.ebay.com/wii6hK

They had a 20% off sale running when I got it but it's worth keeping an eye on if you are doing a bit of sheet metal work.

    Looking forward to beam pics.

    Have fun
    Kit
