    I do like the sample.
However the over all flow or what I call the mixability needs to be tightened up.
For example the offbeat stutter at 01:45 comes back on an off beat and shifts the alignment with the samples overlaying.
Were you going for that effect there? If so spot on..

I would play this live at the end of my set to for the the next DJ to try to mix into... .... as Things do not seem to happen on a tight 16 beat loop/ 32 or 64....

I do really like your samples.. and think they should be a bit louder at the large breakdown.

It has been a while since I threw anything together so take my above statements with a grain of spindle dust.....

I think the sample that comes in at the end should be brought in sooner...

Levels of the samples do need to be tweaked though..

For reference I played this thru KRK Rokit 5's.

I do not want this to be seen as negative comments...

I also listened to some of your other mixes... including your Episode 004 which you opened with your remix of Duran duran i believe..

I Love the layers you did in that track...

Peace out from an old acid tech head.

You know, now that i think about it. It is off haha. Im used to producing at 128. so 130 would throw my counts off since i was aligning based on 30 second bar changes should have been doing 28.. ugh.. back to the drawing board haha

Reminds me of my old Fruity Loops days.

Its kind of linear, and needs more twists and turns. Also there is no "hook". I think you could take a page out on Moby's "Play" book. Something soft, and rolling by a soulful woman.

I do like it too. I have some of my own samples on disk somewhere. I'll see if I can dig them out. Mine are on the darker side though, so not for everyone.

Fruity loops still is a thing. It's used by Savant along with some other really professional musicians though it's usually downplayed as toy software because it doesn't have a steep learning curve at the start.
VST's add a lot more to those programs like massive, harmor, harmless, melodyne, bitspeak, Sylenth1, etc
Recommended packs are most certainly the vengeance sample packs
This is being made with FL studio and also might be inspirational I guess: https://soundcloud.com/blend1/onemorerequest

I personally use soundcloud to make so called audio jokes frequently (so called SoundClown)

Anyhow nice track though I do think you could add more to it.
I also give away some project files for "educational purposes" but only the ones made by me.
I'd be happy to send you a synth or 2 if you need one (majority are synths for the massive VST though)

I also made a synth with my QM2000 laser controller: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...erimental1.mp3

Sadly avicii isn't looked up to by the majority of producers.
He is considered a major preset user and some * consider him the "middle finger" in the EDM world.
    For many reasons:
    http://www.mixmag.net/words/news/avi...ssing-from-edm the irony
Using presets throughout his entire project (can also be found in all his other songs) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dIcuU58Oy8
and the massively criticized choice of mixing country with EDM, original yes good no. http://whiteraverrafting.com/the-wor...13/2013/12/26/

Avicii gets his presets send to by a lot of professional producers *including kicks and more*.
The main thing of this all: he didn't make it.

    Appreciated the criticism

But i was specifically going for a long repetitive track. Hence the very very quiet 2 min long breakdown.

Aside from timing issues, tracks like this are designed to be layered. Its not uncommon to have 3-4 minimal tech tracks playing live all mixed at once to create 1 fuller track.

Its all good. I use Ableton Live 9 (I had Live 8 for a long time)

Only took me about 3-4 hours to make the sounds in that track, then put them all together.
I think i started at 8am? and was done by noon. All in good fun
ive been messing around with producing when i get bored for a few years.
But i have never tried to get seriously into it.

I watched that video when I was trying to learn electronic music production and if I remember correctly he said he uses presets as placeholders when shaping the basics of the song and replaces them later with his own or something.

But I don't really get what's bad in using presets, unless you're stealing them. I've asked Youtubers who make video tutorials where they make their own presets how they know how to get the timbres they have in their heads and they say it is pretty random. Envelopes, some filters/effects and LFOs left aside you can't really know how tweaking everything else will make it sound from what I've been told. So I would understand people who use presets, because browsing random presets until you find something good seems to require as little creativity as tweaking knobs and sliders randomly until you find something good.
But I'd love to know that everyone who told me this is wrong even thought I've asked quite a few people with lot of views on their videos. The whole randomness and uncertainty in sound synthesis and not finding the timbre I want after browsing thousands of presets is the main reason I got tired of this hobby and moved to other things like lasers.

Anyway, sorry OP for getting off-topic. My point was what DAW you use doesn't really matter. You can make good songs with the program you use, so I suggest spending more time on improving on other skills than wasting time learning another DAW if you're considering it.
Presets aren't per se bad ... for someone who is new... but for someone that makes a serious amount of money out of it, calls himself a top of the line professional producer then yes its bad.
He sadly doesn't use them as placeholders as they clearly make it into the ending projects as well.

However the nexus packs *nexus is what he most commonly uses* are very expensive.
Nexus isn't really a "true synth" but more like a fully selected sample pack with some extra adjustement options.

It's a lot easier if you don't add much in experimentation of creating the sounds yourself.
For example: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...it/presets.mp3 Nicky Romero VS old mcdonald had a farm (nicky romero actually produces his own synths though, however his modern talking Synth is easy to recreate)
(download the synth here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cq...use_Synth.nmsv use note F4 on FL studio to get the correct pitch).

or: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...gy_Animals.mp3 Animals VS crazy fog
    (yeah I'm done haha)

That's exactly why people call his "uncreativity in EDM comment" irony.

There are quite some people out there who really experiment, a music scientist so to speak. People that either really create their own sounds like through massive (oscillators) or people who use old hardware properties to generate destinct sounds.
