I use the ST-132, which is sold under a number of brands, Global Truss, Varytec, Stairville, American DJ, etc and is a knock-off/OEM product of the MobilTek SPTek 4000 (iirc)
3 sections, 4m max height, 85kg SWL (TUV approval) and very cheap compared to anything else even remotely close to those specs.
Depending on adaptor, can be used with single fixtures, scaff bars, full blown truss. Totally versatile.
Ordering 2 more in a weeks time.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
guitar center is the worst place to go if your looking for a deal found several places online that are half the price of guitar center
Have you looked at www.cheaplights.com in Houston?

As Norty said, the ST-132's are beasts. Absolutely nothing like what's sold at guitar center. (And I have that stuff too.) I'll find the link to the company I bought mine from and send it to you or post it here as, after exhaustive research, they were the least expensive place.
Ok, it's Soundworks Systems, Inc. in Wisconsin. Amy was my contact person. Amy Laabs: amy@soundworkssystems.com They're on eBay as well with the screen name recyclebiz.
Best pricing on stands I found anywhere. The ST-132's are about 55 pounds each and are beasts as I said before. You'll want to look into either a T bar or moose ears with truss or something but, they handle around 220 pounds I think.
