Better blue. Outside of DPSS (bad modulation), OPSL ($$$$$$) and Nichia(locked up tight), we are still stuck with 445~450nm blue. It has its place but it's ugly.

Everyone else is probably going to say higher power red with good beam specs.

    530nm green diode
    593nm yellow diode

Or a drastic drop of OPSL prices...

    My wishlist:

Single mode real green diode 532nm in 200mw or more and red single mode diodes arround 300mw. Blue single mode diodes in the 460nm range in 500mw or more. The green is the most desirable for me since 520nm is horrible for colors and with 532nm green diodes we can wave dpss goodbye

wideband dial a frequency laser in the 1w range where in you can dial any color you want from red to blue on the fly so you want so you don't have to mix diodes for color. New shows would have a single color channel and you get any frequency you want. Oh and the laser should have 1mm beam with 0.1mrad tem00 with pcaom or better modulation. As scanners move beyond 60kps we are going to need better modulation.

Second, solid state scanners capable of 180 degrees and video fast scanning

    All this powered by a 12V 3A in a box 6"square.

Last, a video camera that looks ahead of the beam and detects people by thermal camera and attenuates the beam making 100% eye safe beam shows.

You didn't say it had to be feasible.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

a barbeaubot would wield that leak with her laser beam eyes.
