You guys and gals are gonna have so much fun! What a great time to be a laser enthusiast. Kind of like the early '70's. If I were 40 years younger I would be right in there with you. It would be cool if there were a live video feed. Lacking that, I hope some of you shoot and post lots of video. I'm really excited for you!

I took Friday off at work so I can drive in Thursday evening or early Friday morning. Unless there is something happening Thursday night I'll probably save the hotel money and come Friday.

Just picked up some 30K scanners at AixiZ- IF someone has the set-up and could install and run some tests on these we would be greatful- what I have will not fit in my VERY limited luggage space( taking a Greyhound from Here to Dallas to catch my ride-to SELEM)

AixiZ passed on the cheaper ones -- "the best I could find while in China (in July)for the price" no show card comes with these or spare mirrors- there are pics at aixiz.com

I am responsible for these- must be returned if not sold at SELEM- no ship cost , of course, and a small discount(~10%) too- not much can be told w/o setting them up in a PJ(afaik).-- and anyway I am not qualified to do expert testing--

I got the new RGB White module from AixiZ its also listed there @ $139 iirc-
10 in stock for now--
INCREDIBLY SMALL-- TTL for RGB and for all three (white) and a place to plug in a fan.

Ones with more power this one (300mW AFTER losses +/- 5%) are coming.

I also think a set eventually will be offered at AixiZ that are analog. Or as Techhood calls them 'analogo'.

I think I will hear some WOWs! when you see how sweet this white laser is in a LUMIA set-up it too will be for sale on the last day- reg $139 I can take the highest offer that is > $100--


AND AixiZ has gotten a new single element standard lens- broadband coated 400 to 700 nm- first tests wil be at SELEM- price is TBA BUT I think they will be priced good (MAYBE under 10$) this lens could be as good as the $40 G (2 or ( and looks just like the S1 ) series--

These will be tested in the BST room-- whomever helps me run some tests gets one of these lenses to take home- comp of AixiZ..I will try to bring my graphing LPM- I will have the 3 element AixiZ glass AR coated lens for 400 to 450 nm

I have hopes it will be as good as those gotten in two GBs- First one was from O-like ( now known as NO-Like) which in a single lens buy was more than 9-$ (after pp fees and shipping)each or from the GB this is now being delivered- price for a single one was also about $9(in total) --but cheaper in larger numbers- of course as GBs are spozed to be the cheapest due to the number ordered- the paying up front and the WAIT-

These lenses are already in Texas. (iirc he said he got only 200 of them& not yet listed)


I do need somebody to bring a G2 lens to SELEM they have always been to spendy (~$40) to get one for my uses--

I will be bringing a good LPM,some handhelds,and a ton of stuff. Most of the handhelds have the G-2 lens in them.

THANKS John- we will be the first to see and test these ( and also the 300mWwhite laser module & 30K scanners)- AFAIK
We hope they will outperform the AixiZ glass -AR coated 400-450 nm 3 element-giving more output and nearly matching the 40$ G lenses- some think the broadband coating MAY allow these to work well also with 405 and the reds- The reflection is lightish blue-

Price is expected to be lower than the AixiZ 3 element (which is ATM--$10)

These lenses will not be listed afaik until AFTER we test & review them.

The 300mW RGB white laser mini module IS listed at aixiz.com(@ $129 iirc) as well as the 30K scanners-($239) 9 only left of both in stock ATM- those I am bringing will be FS near the end --

IF they are well received AixiZ plans to carry both 20K and 40K from the same mystery maker--- Last month AixiZ went to China and toured a few places-& originally was going to try to get the better cheapies but after being there they went with a better quality- Pics and spec sheets and schematics of all are posted--

orders made and paid during SELEM will get a discount- see me for the details.

here are some crappy pics-

on the driver there is a place to plug in a fan (yellow) 12vdc afaik
on the other end are TTL blanking for each color and the white one blanks all three

12vdc- YES!! this module IS quite portable and i see it making some awesome Lumia and Spiro-- Only had a short time to play with it- and meter- after losses 300mW
'Pinkish' white ( but you can tune it with the trimpots)- the red is 650nm
blue 450nm
532 green- will meter each laser at SELEM and do a demo of it with LUMIA - I was blown away-- with the short Lumia testing i had time to do - you gotta see this to understand my excitement--( Zack gets it!)

I do NOT know what the white four pin center plug is for,... anyone want to tell me??(see the pic)
